We went to Dallas, Father's Day weekend, to dedicate Chase at Northwest Bible Church. But before the big day we had other plans for the weekend. It started off Saturday morning with me meeting my friend, Jolie, for a much needed mani/pedi. It's always great seeing her and catching up face-to-face while getting pampered!
Then it was on to my grandparents house for a family lunch. My grandpa's health has not been so good so we wanted to try and get as many of us together for what could be the last time with him. He LOVES chicken tenders so we always pick that up to eat and today was no different. Grandpa hasn't been eating much lately so I thought he will for sure perk up seeing all of us and the smell of his beloved tenders. But instead Grandpa was very weak and his breathing was very labored. He did not look good nor did he feel good. So we decided to call for an ambulance. He was admitted to the hospital with low oxygen levels, kidney failure, heart failure, fluid on the lungs and broncitis. Even though we know his days are numbered we weren't expecting the day to go like this. I was hoping for one last family photo, watching him enjoy and talk about the tenders and spending some time with my grandparents at their house. But while in the hospital grandpa was put on oxygen and he looked and felt so much better. So even though we didn't get the last family picture and spend much time at their house I'm glad we could all be there for him and get him the help he needs.
It was a sad day really seeing that the end is near. While it will be sad to say goodbye soon it will also be a blessing that he gets to meet God (WOW!!!) , walk again and just be a "normal being" again. I love you Grandpa!
